2 Timothy 4:5 3-5You're going to find that there will be times when people will have no stomach for solid teaching, but will fill up on spiritual junk food—catchy opinions that tickle their fancy. They'll turn their backs on truth and chase mirages. But you—keep your eye on what you're doing; accept the hard times along with the good; keep the Message alive; do a thorough job as God's servant.
Dear Friend:
Do watch what you eat? Do ever notice when you are stressed, that you don’t crave vegetables? But instead, you crave “Junk Food.” Sometimes we want things to be quick and easy so we go for the easy. If the majority is thinking one way, isn’t easier just to accept and go along with what they say?
It really takes time spent with God to filter all the days input. It is almost like going through your e-mails daily. You delete the junk and save the important stuff. It takes self-discipline to accept the truth and deny the junk.
So today we must decide to keep our eyes on what we are doing; accept the good with bad, but keep our minds alive with the truth. Stay true to the one who created you and loves you, The Lord Jesus Christ. No if s and or buts. Stick with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit that is one in three. If God wanted to be called anything else he would have put that in the Bible.
Let’s pray: Father in heaven, help me to hunger for solid teaching and not be filled with junk. I want to keep my eyes on what you’re doing and as a servant keep your message alive. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
Trying to stay junk free,
Elaine
